The Regenerative Classroom
Earth City Wonder offers customized sustainability services for the classroom. These include collaborative and inclusive curriculum development, classes, and teacher training.
You don’t have to be a PhD biologist or an engineer to learn from natural systems.
Through hands-on, field-based activities, participants develop fundamental citizen science observational skills in order to learn how to learn from the natural world all around us.

Our services are guided by the following principles:
-
Ask any scientist and they’ll tell you global warming is not a science problem.
-
In many indigenous tribes plants and animals are thought of as relatives. This is indicative of a radical empathy with the more-than-human world and is the starting point for how we will learn from our “elders.”
-
A term invented by Janine Benyus, biomimicry offers a profound opportunity to reshape our society by learning from at least 3.85 billion years of living systems operating within the bounds of the Earth’s biosphere.
-
Children have the right to have access to the learning and experience that sustains the environment – to encounter the wonder of nature and to stewardship – independent of race, class, and gender.
-
We are responsible for providing them with hope, agency, and the tools they will need to learn from nature.
-
Wisdom is all around us, chirping, buzzing, blossoming, flowing, photosynthesizing away. Our only job now is to start turning our attention to it.
